Portrait
My inspiration for this piece is the movie Doctor Strange. I picked that because he is my favorite superhero.
The process was doing the outline first and moving onto shading. After I shaded everything I used a cotton ball to smooth out the shading and to get rid of some of the lines.
Charcoal
My artwork is Darth Vader. Value is really obvious in this piece.
I used a pencil to sketch out Darth Vader. I used charcoal to create value.
I was inspired by Robert Longo. I tried to show that Darth Vader felt that he was higher up than everyone.
My goals are to become better at shading with things that aren't a pencil like charcoal and paint. It kind of helped because I've never used charcoal before.
I learned to how shade and blend with charcoal. It didn't turn out 100% how I would've liked it to but I still think it's good.
Art Show
My piece depicts the Empire and Rebel alliance logos. My piece is titled balance. The most obvious principle is balance.
My piece is made from pen and ink. I used a nib and ink.
I was inspired by Star Wars and real life. I tried to show that something evil and something good can create balance.
My goals are to get better at making my lines equal and more straight with pen and ink. I think it did improve my skills with pen and ink considering its was my second time ever drawing with it.
I learned to make my lines more even with ink. It did come out the way I thought because it shows balance within the piece. I think in the future I'll make more pieces that show a balance between good and evil.
Cross Contour
My inspiration for this piece is Star Wars episodes 1-6. I picked those because I like those movies better than the new ones.
The process was first mapping it out with a pencil. Then I used pen and ink to create lines to make it look 3-D.
Clay
My piece is a planter made out of clay. The subject matter is an owl.
I used clay to make the planter. I rolled out the clay to make coils and then I stacked them up on each other and blended them together to make it stronger.
I was inspired by my mom. I gave her a plant for mothers day a few years ago so thats why I made a planter and her favorite animal is an owl so thats why I made an owl.
My goals are to get better using clay. I think I did get better using clay because before now all I knew how to do was a tiki and I never thought I could make something like this.
I learned how to use the coil method to create a planter. It turned out better than I thought it would.
Surface Manipulation
My artwork is of Anakin Skywalker off of the movie Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
I used artist paste and paint to create most of my artwork but I also used a pencil to map out the original sketch.
Star Wars inspired me to make this artwork. I created this specific character because he is my favorite and this is my favorite movie out of all the Star Wars movies.
My goals are to get better with using paint. I would like to be able to paint stuff so I could make it look realistic.
I learned how to make and use artist paste. This will influence my future art by making me not afraid to use paint and artist paste.
Water Color
My artwork depicts a character called Kylo Ren from Star Wars. The title is Kylo Ren.
I used water color to create my piece. I also used foreshortening to create perspective.
I was inspired by Star Wars. The piece doesn't really depict anything I'm feeling I just thought that it would be good with the foreshortening idea.
My goals as an artist are to get better with all kinds of media like paint, charcoal and watercolor. My goals for this piece were to improve my skills with water color.
I learned how to foreshorten with watercolor. I also learned how to create value and mix while using water color.
